KY Beef Expo Week is Upon Us!

Posted by agriexposure on February 27, 2017 at 10:40 PM Comments comments (2)

Well, it's that week...the week that our Expo sale consignors and our Jr exhibitors parents either look forward to or dread! It always seems to get here before we know it and a "few weeks too early."  Whether you are getting green calves halterbroke or a few extra pounds on your sale cattle, this week is often one that is that week where we wish time would stand still. I have no doubt that our sale consignors will have all the lots looking exceptional and our Juniors will put on a show to be very proud of. Judging by the pictures that I have seen on Social Media and in the catalog, there appears to be a great deal of quality and something for everyone in the sale.

Yes, we have the show and sale this weekend, but we also have the KLBA Spring Meeting. I know, meetings aren't everyone's favorite thing to do at the expo, however our association has some big decisions to make and we would apprciate as much input as possible over the next few months.

Safe travels to every who is going to Louisville and best of luck to our consignors and exhibitors.

2016 KLBA Christmas Gathering

Posted by agriexposure on December 5, 2016 at 11:00 PM Comments comments (0)

Thank you to the Hugh Montgomery family for collaborating and making sure the KLBA Christmas meeting was a success! The association members were invited to gateher at 7 p.m. on Saturday, December 3 for a wonderful dinner and annual meeting at the Claudia Sanders Dinner House in Shelbyville, KY.

The new board members and officers are listed on the "contact" page and updated minutes will be posted shortly.

Special points of discussion:

  • A committee was formed to discuss a new points/incentive program for youth who are showing Limousins in KY and possible for those who purchase out of the Beef Expo sale.
  • The 2016 National Junior Show was a success both as an event and fiscally, the association worked well within it's budget and they are able to refund the CD's and make a donation to the 2017 show in Nebraska.
  • Greg Blaydes gave the NALF report, stating that they are trying to fill Thad Comb's previous position as a Regional Field Manager.
  • Callie Hicks, Will Blaydes and Katie Hurt are now serving on the NALJA Board. It truly is impressive to have 3 board members from such a small state!
  • Beef Expo nominations are due soon, KK Seedstock will post forms shortly and he will be soliciting entries.

Talk to you soon!
